Senior Scholar Gigi Gronvall appointed to Secretary of State’s International Security Advisory Board

October 19, 2022 – Gigi Kwik Gronvall, PhD, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, has been appointed to the Secretary of State’s International Security Advisory Board (ISAB).

The 22-member board provides independent insight and advice on arms control, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity and national security of emerging technologies. It is sponsored and overseen by the Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. Appointed by the Under Secretary, members serve a 2-year term.

Dr. Kwik Gronvall is an immunologist by training. Her work focuses on advances in life sciences and technology and their application to biosecurity, biosafety, and biodefense, with a focus on nuclear, biological, chemical, and conventional threats.
